Future Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Responsible to: Supervisor, Speech-Language Pathology, Stark County ESC
Employment Term: Full-Time
Salary Range: Based on education and experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid License (Registration considered in select cases) for speech and language services as established by the Ohio Department of Education
- Valid license from the Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board (conditional license accepted)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association/CFY available
- BCI/FBI Background/Fingerprinting Check
- Signed statement as required by state licensing regulations, verifying that a staff member has not pleaded guilty or been convicted of any offense of violence or child abuse (Sec. 3319.39 Ohio Revised Code).
- PEY/CFY Supervision available for recent graduates
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preschool and/or school-age experience
- Knowledge of child development
- Organizational skills
- Experience with team planning
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of ETR/IEP paperwork requirements in Ohio
Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Identify, schedule, and provide therapy to children
- Consult with teachers regarding between-session follow-through activities
- Maintain required records
- Prepare required reports
- Work cooperatively with early childhood and/or school-age staff
- Work with parents to help them implement activities and strategies at home
- Participate in designated meetings and activities
- Develop, plan and implement staff development activities in the area of speech and language pathology
- Attend and participate in meetings to improve professional skills
- Maintain communication with district staff and other appropriate agencies
