Future Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

 

Employer:  Stark County Educational Service Center

Responsible to:   Supervisor, Speech-Language Pathology, Stark County ESC

Employment Term:  Full-Time

Salary Range:  Based on education and experience

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid License (Registration considered in select cases) for speech and language services as established by the Ohio Department of Education
  • Valid license from the Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board (conditional license accepted)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association/CFY available
  • BCI/FBI Background/Fingerprinting Check
  • Signed statement as required by state licensing regulations, verifying that a staff member has not pleaded guilty or been convicted of any offense of violence or child abuse (Sec. 3319.39 Ohio Revised Code).
  • PEY/CFY Supervision available for recent graduates

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preschool and/or school-age experience
  • Knowledge of child development
  • Organizational skills
  • Experience with team planning
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of ETR/IEP paperwork requirements in Ohio

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Identify, schedule, and provide therapy to children
  • Consult with teachers regarding between-session follow-through activities
  • Maintain required records
  • Prepare required reports
  • Work cooperatively with early childhood and/or school-age staff
  • Work with parents to help them implement activities and strategies at home
  • Participate in designated meetings and activities
  • Develop, plan and implement staff development activities in the area of speech and language pathology
  • Attend and participate in meetings to improve professional skills
  • Maintain communication with district staff and other appropriate agencies
