Teaching Artists

Responsible to: Artful Living Program Director
Employment Term: Part-Time, as needed, renewed annually, 2021-2022 School Year
In Artful Living and Learning, highly skilled, degreed Teaching Artists come into the schools in Stark County and present daily 20-minute standards-based art lessons (music, visual art, drama, and/or dance) in the preschool classroom. In the lessons, students dance, act, sing, and play, actively learning and enjoying art lessons while learning skills to prepare for Kindergarten. They learn how to learn and explore the world around them in a way that utilizes their senses, their attention, their memory, their engagement, and their positive sense of self.
Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education, an Arts area, or Related Field

Must be actively practicing the arts area for which they are interested. (Music, Drama, Visual Art, Dance)

All teaching artists must provide their own transportation to program sites in and around Stark County.

Teaching Artists are expected to teach from prescribed lessons and must be available when schools are in session (from mid-October to the last week of April; 25 weeks).
- Applicants who are available 4-5 days per week are preferred.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
