Substitute Educational Aide/ParaPro (2024-25 School Year)
Substitute Educational Aide/ParaPro application is required for both new and returning substitute aides/parapros.
Employer: Stark County Educational Service Center and/or individual Stark County School Districts
Responsible to: Stark County ESC school district(s) Principal
Salary Range: Daily rate
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- Valid Educational Aide Permit with ESEA endorsement or valid Ohio substitute or teacher license, issued by the Ohio State Board of Education
- Completed online application including references, updated annually
- Agree to authorize Stark County ESC to conduct/obtain a criminal history background check/fingerprinting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a public or private school classroom
- Ability to work with children and parents in a public school setting
- Experience working with childen who have disabilities
Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Work with teachers, parents, and related services staff in the following types of classrooms:
- Preschool students who are typically developing and/or those needing special services
- Elementary through High School students with multiple disabilities, emotional disabilities, and/or autism
- Assist in the management of the classroom in compliance with district and State of Ohio rules
- Assist in maintaining a conducive learning environment free of health and safety hazards
- Work with student(s) both individually and in small groups to promote learning and skills initially introduced by the teacher
- Support a program which enables the child to reach his/her fullest physical, emotional, psychological, and behavioral potential
- Maintain confidentiality of student information
